The ceremony will be held June 12 at 7 p.m.
Tom Brady’s induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame might be the biggest event for the team this upcoming season, but non-season ticket holders will likely have to wait in order to get their tickets for the event.
Patriots season ticket holders are expected to receive ticket information for the event next week and will be given preferred pricing through April 12, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Sunday in his notes column. If there are still tickets remaining through the presale process, they will become available for purchase later in the month, Reiss added in his report. It’s unknown how many tickets will be available to purchase.
So far, many of the details for the event to honor Brady have mostly been under wraps since they announced the ceremony will be held on June 12 during the 2023 regular-season opener. The team recently shared though that Brady’s induction ceremony would be a ticketed event and will begin at 7 p.m.
The ceremony for Brady might also be similar to another event honoring an iconic Boston athlete. Reiss wrote that “it sounds like” Brady’s event could be like the retirement ceremony the Celtics threw for Larry Bird in 1993. The Celtics honored the NBA legend with his own night, dubbing it “Larry Bird Night,” holding the ceremony at the Boston Garden on a non-game day.
A ticket to get in the Boston Garden that night wasn’t cheap, either. Scalpers sold tickets up to $500, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times on the event. So, those who might want to get in for Brady’s night might have to be prepared to spend a pretty penny.
The memorable moment from Bird’s night was when Magic Johnson arrived and unveiled that he was wearing a Celtics T-shirt under his Lakers warmup jumpsuit. If Brady’s night has a similar moment, maybe we’ll see Peyton Manning at Gillette Stadium wearing Patriots attire?
Obviously, it remains to be seen who will and won’t be in attendance, such as Bill Belichick. However, the day could serve as a memorable sports night in Boston. Game 3 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for that night as well. With the Celtics holding the league’s best record, it isn’t unfathomable to think they’ll be trying to do what Brady did six times during his tenure in New England.
