The matter is related to the film ‘Rust’. In 2021, cinematographer Halina Hutchins died after being shot during the shooting of the film. In this case, Hanna, who was responsible for the supply and maintenance of weapons, was on trial.

The court has now given its verdict in the case of cinematographer’s death due to firing during the shooting of the film ‘Rust’. A jury in New Mexico has convicted Hannah Gutierrez-Reed of involuntary manslaughter, the man responsible for supplying and maintaining the film’s arsenal. It was Hannah who loaded the gun.

This is the case
The matter is related to the film ‘Rust’. In 2021, cinematographer Halina Hutchins died after being shot during the shooting of the film. Due to this, Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin has now been charged with murder for the fatal shooting. Baldwin was also the film’s producer, holding a Colt .45 during rehearsals for the low-budget Western in New Mexico. According to the allegations, Baldwin fired a live round as the shoot began, killing cinematographer Helena Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.

Allowed to brandish weapons
A jury in New Mexico held a hearing for about two hours on Wednesday. During this time, Hanna was blamed for the death of cinematographer Halina Hutchins. The case reportedly went to trial for 10 days and found how Gutierrez was responsible for the use of live rounds on the set. Not only this, the court also observed how she had failed to follow basic safety rules several times. The guns were left unattended. At the same time, actors including Baldwin were allowed to wave weapons.

This is not a mistakeā€¦
Prosecutor Kari Morrissey argued to the jury Wednesday that this was not a case where Hannah Gutierrez made a mistake and accidentally put live cartridges in the gun. Rather, this case is about never-ending security failures that resulted in the death of a human being.

A bullet was accidentally fired on the set
This incident took place on the Santa Fe film set. American actor Alec Baldwin was playing the lead role in the film. During the shooting, Baldwin fired a shot from the prop gun, killing the female cinematographer. Film director Souza was also injured in this incident.

Alec Baldwin’s statement
After the accident, Halina (cinematographer) was immediately taken to New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. But, his life could not be saved. Baldwin has consistently denied these allegations. After the accident, Baldwin had said, ‘I would never point a gun at anyone, much less pull the trigger.’ At the same time, ballistic experts rejected his claim and said that the gun could not have fired in any other way.

Real props are used in Hollywood films
Most of the Hollywood directors like to use real props to shoot a scene in their films, so that the thing does not look fake on the screen. Be it a car or a gun. But a popular cinematographer lost his life due to this real fake. The prop gun with which the shooting is going on is real, but instead of bullets, it is filled with blank cartridges. However, why this did not happen during the shooting of ‘Rust’, the investigation into this negligence is still going on.
