Nepal will make electronic chip mandatory for climbing Everest, its price will be only this much

Nepal will soon make it mandatory for all climbers climbing the world’s highest peak Mount Everest to carry an electronic chip. This chip will prove helpful in rescue operations in case of any emergency during climbing. Tourism Department Director Rakesh Gurung said that the price of this chip will be 10 to 15 dollars (around 828 to 1243 Indian rupees).

Price will be 10 to 15 dollars

Tourism Department Director Rakesh Gurung said that the price of this chip will be 10 to 15 dollars (around 828 to 1243 Indian rupees). From spring this year, the government will make rules to make such chips mandatory. Climbing Mount Everest starts from spring itself. Thousands of climbers from all over the world including India and Nepal come to climb the 8,849 meter high Mount Everest.

Many people reach this peak known as Sagarmatha. In this sequence, many people lose their lives due to accidents or other reasons or climbers get seriously injured while climbing and descending.

300 people have lost their lives since 1953

According to Nepal government data, 300 people have lost their lives since 1953. Nepalese officials said 12 climbers, including four Nepalese, one Indian and one Chinese, died during expeditions on Mount Everest in the spring of 2023 through May 22.
