A person was fatally struck by a train at the 28th Street station in Manhattan on Wednesday, police said.
Police said the person was lying on the tracks as a southbound 1 train pulled into the station, and the operator did not see the man until after the train struck him. No criminality was suspected, police said.
The news comes one week after four people were fatally struck by trains in a 24-hour period.
