Brady will be in the booth for the Week 1 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.
Fox Sports announced Tom Brady’s long-awaited broadcasting debut, with the seven-time Super Bowl champ set to call the Week 1 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.
The game, which will take place on Sept. 8, at 4:25 p.m. ET, features Brady in the booth alongside Fox’s lead NFL play-by-play announcer, Kevin Burkhardt. The news comes nearly two years after Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million megadeal with the network, replacing Greg Olsen.
While the full NFL schedule won’t be released until Wednesday, Fox NFL analyst Michael Strahan dropped the news during Fox’s media upfront presentation in New York City on Monday.
“For the first time in five years, the NFL on Fox opens with the Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, it’s going to be your first game,” Strahan said.
Brady, who went 7-1 against the Cowboys over 23 seasons — suffering his only loss in the 2022 NFC wild-card matchup — expressed excitement at calling his former rival’s season-opener.
“Amazing,” he said. “Obviously, having the Cowboys on is a huge draw. As ‘America’s Team,’ that’s going to get a little hard for me to say that all the time. Understand they were the competition for a long time.”
Hot off of his Netflix roast special, the three-time NFL MVP even slipped in a few jabs about the Cowboys, flashing his ever-present competitive streak.
“In this new role, I know the Cowboys, how important that they are to this network. They got great storylines. Come on, Dak Prescott, let’s see if he can finally come through. One of the great defensive players,” Brady said with a laugh. “Did that just slip out?”
The full 2024 NFL schedule, will be released on Wednesday, May 15, at 8 p.m.
