A woman died following a four-alarm house fire in Georgetown late Saturday night, crews announced Sunday.

The Georgetown Fire Department responded to the single-family home on East Main Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday. Crews said there were 20-foot high flames shooting from roof of the 2.5-story wood house.

Three residents had evacuated safely, but a woman was still inside, officials said. She suffered serious injuries, and firefighters were able to remove her through a second-floor window. The woman was transported to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, where she died overnight, officials said.

The woman was not identified by officials. The fire was brought under control by 12:45 a.m. with aid from more than a dozen nearby departments, officials said.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
