White Sox DH Eloy Jimenez, reliever Steven Wilson land on IL

TORONTO — After exiting Tuesday’s game with a left hamstring strain, White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez landed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Right-hander Steven Wilson is also going to be out of action, going on the 15-day IL with a back strain. That cleared room on the pitching staff for right-hander Nick Nastrini, who was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to start Wednesday’s series finale against the Blue Jays.

Outfielder Zach DeLoach was also recalled from Triple-A Charlotte and in the starting lineup, batting eighth and playing right field.

Jimenez appeared to be hurt as he crossed home plate on Corey Julks’ two-run single in the fifth inning that gave the Sox a three-run lead in their 5-0 victory Tuesday. Jimenez was pinch-hit for by Gavin Sheets in the seventh inning.

Jimenez, who has a long history of soft tissue injury problems, missed the first two weeks of April after suffering an adductor strain in the third game of the season.

He had two hits Tuesday, raising his average to .231.

DeLoach is batting .263/.358/.343 with two homers in 38 games at Charlotte. He was acquired from the Mariners with right-hander Prelander Berroa in an offseason trade for righty Gregory Santos.

Tommy Pham is the DH Wednesday, with Dominic Fletcher playing center field.
