Where do you take your parents for dinner in Boston?

Tell Us

Are your parents in town for graduation? Visiting for a summer trip? We want to know which Greater Boston restaurants you’re eating at with them.

Family dining in Greater Boston
Amid graduations and Boston’s tourism season, some Bostonians are likely planning where to take visitors and family to eat. Barry Chin/Boston Globe

Whether you’re a college senior graduating from college, a young professional who moved here for work, or maybe you’re a local whose family retired to Florida, there’s a unique stressor felt among these three groups around this time of year: the parent visit.

Sure, it can be fun when family visits, but it also takes planning, likely the responsibility of the person who lives here.

A reporter’s note: I have family visiting for their very first time in New England this summer, and below are just some of the questions that keep me up at night.

What kinds of foods does your group like? What’s a price point that’s comfortable for everyone? How many people are in the group? Should you make a reservation, and when? Where in the city should you eat? Will you be able to make it on time to your reservation? How will you get there?

And maybe the most dizzying question of all: How do you narrow down where to eat in Greater Boston?

With some graduations still ongoing, parents visiting for summer, and in a short few months, parents dropping off a new batch of college students in late summer, we wanted to cut out some of the stress that comes with finding a restaurant.

Have you taken your visiting family out lately? We want to hear from you about where you took them, and why it’s a perfect choice for those whose parents are traveling to Boston.

Tell us by filling out the form or e-mailing us at [email protected], and your response may appear in a future Boston.com article.

Your responses will help us build a guide with suggestions for those of us tasked with accommodating guests this summer — and on a more personal note, it’ll help me out tremendously.
