Weekend festivals in Atlanta, Oct. 5-6

It’s a busy weekend of events and festivals around Atlanta. Here are six not to miss:

Decatur Book Festival
The Decatur Book Festival kicks off Friday night with a keynote from famed author and poet Joyce Carol Oates. Saturday will be filled with author readings, signings, poetry, and more.

Candler Park Fall Fest
Music, food and fun for kids is back Oct. 5-6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check out the music lineup below. The annual 5K & Fun Run is Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Atlanta Arab Festival
Alif Institute presents the 17th Annual Atlanta Arab Festival (AAF), taking place at Alif Institute on Saturday and Sunday. The AAF  will feature live performances, the best Arabic cuisine in the metro-Atlanta area, local artists, cultural demonstrations, exhibits and workshops, and of course shopping!

Atlanta Art Fair and Atlanta Art Week
The inaugural edition of Atlanta Art Fair is already underway at Pullman Yards and continues through Oct. 6 featuring local galleries, artists, and curators alongside a series of public projects and events. The Art Fair coincides with Atlanta Art Week, which also continues until Oct. 6 featuring events at local galleries, performances, tours, and more.

SCRAPfest
Bring the family to the Westside Motor Lounge on Sunday for an afternoon with comedy, crafting, and creative reuse. Admission to SCRAPFest is free to the general public, but there will be pay-as-you-go crafting stations and Scraplanta merch for sale. We will also have a creative reuse market with vendors who use upcycled materials for their art. Atlanta comedians Mark Kendall and David Perdue are bringing back Scraplanta Sunset with a line-up of four hilarious comedians who will share jokes to which the entire family can laugh.

DreamHack
DreamHack Atlanta will bring everything gaming under one roof for a three-day immersive festival from Oct. 4-6. Connect, explore, win, and be yourself alongside tens of thousands of fellow fans at the Georgia World Congress Center for a celebration of gaming culture, cosplay, entertainment, tabletop, esports, and more.
