UPS hiring 6,500 in Atlanta area while gearing up for shorter shopping season

There may be four fewer shopping days for the 2024 holiday season, but UPS says it will be ready.

The industry leader in on-time delivery for six consecutive peak seasons says it is gearing up for the holiday season and recruiting more than 6,500 full- and part-time seasonal employees in the Atlanta area.

This is part of a greater effort to hire 125,000 seasonal hires nationwide, UPS says.

“UPS is ready to deliver the same reliable service that customers depend on year-round,” the company said in a news release.

With nearly 75% of the company’s jobs no longer requiring an in-person interview, many applicants are able to receive a job offer within as little as 10 minutes, the company said.

UPS said it is hiring seasonal delivery drivers and package handlers and said it offers “industry-leading wages” with flexible shift options in various locations across the country.

Roles include package handlers starting at $21 per hour and seasonal delivery drivers starting at $23 per hour.

Once at UPS, the company’s Earn and Learn program allows eligible employees to earn up to $25,000 for college tuition and expenses. Part-time seasonal employees can qualify for prorated reimbursement the day they are hired.

Last but not least, current UPS employees can receive a bonus by referring family and friends

The company said those interested in seasonal work at UPS should monitor upsjobs.com for available jobs in their area and apply as soon as they are listed.
