BASEBALL

Cole Perkin allowed a pair of hits and struck out eleven as Pingree (10-2) defeated Portsmouth Abbey, 4-1 to clinch the Eastern Independent League title.

Liam Powers allowed one hit with five strikeouts and drove in a pair of runs to lead Mystic Valley to a 13-0 victory over Commonwealth foe Nashoba Valley.

Carter Lucido threw a 2-hit shutout as Georgetown (13-0) defeated Hamilton-Wenham 2-0 in the Cape Ann League. … Dave Tracy fired a two-hit shutout as Lynnfield beat Newburyport, 3-0.

William Dionne struck out 10 as Somerset Berkley beat West Bridgewater 7-0 in the South Coast Conference.

Ayden Balter had a game-winning sacrifice fly in the last of the seventh as Wilmington edged Watertown 2-1 in the Middlesex League Freedom.

Jack Murray went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI as Noble and Greenough defeated BB&N 7-3 in the Independent School League.

Casey Decamp and Caden Ross each drove in a pair of runs as Swampscott (7-5) defeated Northeast 10-4 in a nonleague contest.

BOYS LACROSSE

In a Merrimack Valley Conference game, Ryan Tighe finished with seven points (three goals, four assists) and Luke Faletra added five points (four goals, one assist) as Central Catholic defeated Andover, 12-11 in overtime.

Michael Taylor had six goals and an assist as Triton defeated Amesbury 15-5 in the Cape Ann League.

Tommy Farrell led the way with five goals and three assists while Colin Willoe added four goals and four assists as North Andover bested Masconomet 14-9 in a nonleague contest.

GIRLS LACROSSE

In a nonleague matchup, Sofia Grasso netted four goals as South Shore Tech defeated Abington, 12-5. … Mara Levesque finished with six points (two goals, four assists) to lead Dighton-Rehoboth to a 12-10 victory over Middleboro. … Caroline Nozzolillo tallied eight points (six goals, two assists) while Cece Thurmond added four goals to lead Westwood to a 16-5 win over Longmeadow.

Bailey Lower had six goals and seven assists while Emerson Pekarcik also notched six goals and had four assists as Nantucket bested Barnstable, 21-8, in a Cape and Islands league game.

Kerri Finneran scored five goals as Central Catholic had a Merrimack Valley Conference win over Andover, 13-8.

Evie Bernard scored seven goals in Hamilton-Wenham’s 19-7 win over Essex Tech in the Cape Ann League.

GIRLS SOCCER

St. Mary’s (Lynn) girls soccer Jim Foley announced his retirement after 25 years at the helm. In his time there, the Spartans amassed an overall record of 298-126-26. Foley’s 2015 team won the MIAA Div. 4 North title, with his daughter Jenna on the squad.

“I’ve been thinking about it the last few years,” Foley said. “Twenty-five years is a long time to be in one place. This was a good time to do it.”

SOFTBALL

In the Mayflower Conference, Freshman Allie Blanchard went five-for-five, had six RBI and three runs scored while Senior Molly Peterson went two-for-two with a two run home run and three runs scored as South Shore Tech tops Bristol Aggie, 20-6.

In a Middlesex League game, Monica Obedzinski recorded a pair of hits and drove in two RBI to aid Arlington to a 3-2 win over Belmont. … Avery Simpson was 2-for-3 with four runs scored, while Brianna D’Arrigo drove in four runs as Woburn (9-4) qualified for the state tournament with a 16-5 win over Winchester. … Alyssa Matarazzo struck out 12 and allowed three hits as Burlington defeated Melrose, 13-1.

Elsie Testa struck out 11, Riley Agnew and Jess Blyth each recorded RBI singles to lift Abington to a 3-1 win over Middleboro in South Shore League action.

In a Merrimack Valley Conference matchup, Kiele Coleman finished with three hits, a pair of runs and two RBI to boost Methuen (8-5) past Billerica, 9-3 in eight innings.

In a nonleague game, seniors McKenzie Foley (triple, home run, four RBI, three runs) and Kaelyn Chase (home run, two RBI, four runs) lead Hanover to a 15-3 win over East Bridgewater. … Kiley Hogan struck out 16 in a complete game effort and recorded three hits with an RBI as Tyngsboro edged out Tewksbury, 3-2.

Tess Francis struck out 18 and allowed three hits as Marblehead (11-2) blanked Salem, 13-0 in a Northeast Conference matchup.

In the Middlesex Conference, Alyssa Matarazzo struck out 12 batters on the day, gave up three hits, and had one run over six innings as Burlington beat Arlington, 13-1.
