Red Bull is bringing the best of the nation’s roller skating talent to Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 19, for a high-energy competition.
The event, dubbed “Red Bull Know Your Roll,” will see 16 of the top skaters from across the country converge on the Dome in the City on Northside Drive to showcase their respective skills and styles.
Eight teams of two — including three teams representing Atlanta — will go head-to-head, and will be judged not only on their technical mastery, but also on their swagger, musicality, creativity and showmanship.
Serving as judges for the competition are some of the most renowned icons in the roller skating scene, including Sean Christopher, Sydney Blaylock and Reggie Brown.
Brown, a veteran competitive skater with 30+ years of experience, is eager to see the immense talent on display this upcoming Saturday.
“I’m excited to see high-level footwork, creative stunts, and impressive splits along with spins that showcase the skill and flow of the skaters,” Brown said in a press release. “Red Bull is amplifying the energy of the roller skating community by providing a platform that unites skaters from different cities, pushing the boundaries of creativity, competition, and performance.”
Hosting the event are Cece The Realist and Ms. Kamille, a pair of skaters that are both fresh off of performing alongside Usher during the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year.
DJ Hourglass will provide the live tunes for the competition, while the Atlanta-based Bad Boys Skate Crew will also perform.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with a set by DJ Ham, followed by the main competition at 8 p.m. The night will conclude with an after-party featuring DJ Mars, who is currently on tour with Usher himself.
Spectators 18-and-over can RSVP for free entry to the event. Skaters in-attendance are also encouraged to bring their own gear for open skate sessions before and after the competition.
