Patrons crowded the food tent by noon, just an hour after the opening of the three-day Septemberfest Saturday at the Robert O. Atcher Municipal grounds in Schaumburg.
Homemade chicken fingers, smoked baby back ribs, sweet corn and ice cream were just some of the food favorites enjoyed during the “Taste of Schaumburg” portion of the festival. A carnival, an arts and crafts show and bingo also were part of the attractions.
A fireworks show is scheduled for 10 p.m., and live music is being performed on the main stage all three nights.
