Now Open
Big Softie
632 North Highland Avenue, Poncey-Highland
The Poncey-Highland location of soft serve ice cream shop Big Softie continues its ramp-up to full operation this weekend ahead of the grand opening on Sept. 7. Until then, the shop will operate with limited hours, Friday through Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Follow on Instagram for updates on the grand opening and permanent shop hours.

Pom Court at Hotel Granada
1302 W. Peachtree Street, Midtown
Indoor-outdoor courtyard restaurant, Pom Court, opened at Hotel Granada in Midtown–the 120-room boutique hotel formerly home to the Ardmore. Expect cocktails, wine, beer, and a food menu that includes pimento cheese, deviled eggs, corn fritters, and a smash burger. Look for an intimate cocktail lounge to open at the hotel in September.
Torchy’s Tacos
1055 Howell Mill Road, Home Park
Austin-based Mexican restaurant chain Torchy’s Tacos opened at the Star Metals district along Howell Mill Road. It opens at 10 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on weekends for breakfast tacos, followed by lunch, dinner, and late-night food options.

J’s Smokehouse
3996 Pleasantdale Road, Doraville
The mother of singer and songwriter Usher just opened a barbecue restaurant in Doraville. Called J’s Smokehouse, expect brisket, smoked turkey legs, ribs, vegan meat options, and hot dogs on the menu.
Nando’s Peri-Peri
120 High Street, Dunwoody
Metro Atlanta’s first location of South African flame-grilled chicken restaurant, Nando’s Peri-Peri, opened at the emerging High Street development in Dunwoody near Perimeter Center Parkway.

Boarding Pass Coffee
13695 GA-9, Alpharetta
Boarding Pass Coffee opened at Alpharetta City Center. The travel- and aviation-themed coffee shop from Murilo and Christine Santos also serves pastries and light bites throughout the day.

Toastique
1230 West Peachtree Street, Midtown
Washington, DC-based gourmet toast and juice cafe chain will open at the Hanover complex in Midtown this fall. Expect toasts topped with everything from smoked salmon to tomatoes and burrata, along with smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, coffee, and grab-and-go food.
La Santa Tacos & Bar
905 Juniper Street, Midtown
Mexican restaurant La Santa Tacos & Bar will open later this fall, replacing Rwby on Juniper Street in Midtown. Rwby owners Darren Carr and Eric Simpkins closed the short-lived restaurant in August.

Rreal Tacos
312 Church Street, Decatur
30 South Clayton Street, Lawrenceville
Local Mexican restaurant and taco chain, Rreal Tacos, will open two locations soon in Decatur and Lawrenceville. The Decatur location takes over the Ponko Chicken space in the city’s downtown dining district, while the Lawrenceville location takes over the former Uncle Jack’s Tavern space.
Wa’haka
4474 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody
Cesar Hernandez, a co-owner of Oaxaca in Chamblee, will open Wa’haka in the former Takorea space at the Georgetown shopping center in Dunwoody this winter. Expect the menu to lean into dishes from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, including tlyaudas and moles, along with Tex-Mex dishes of enchiladas, nachos, and fajitas.
Golestan
5155 Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree Corners
Persian restaurant Golestan, from the owners of Mediterranean restaurant Kitty Dare in Inman Park and El Valle Mexican restaurant in Midtown, will open in the coming months at the emerging Forum development in Peachtree Corners.

Sei Ryu
5155 Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree Corners
Sushi and omakase restaurant Sei Ryu, backed by former MF Sushi Bar chef Ranno Wuyan, will open this winter at the Forum in Peachtree Corners. The restaurant will include outdoor seating with a stage facing the development’s plaza green space.
Gianni & Mac’s
85 Church Street, Marietta Square
Italian restaurant Gianni & Mac’s, backed by Cibo e Beve owner Gianni Betti and Mac’s Chophouse and Mac’s Raw Bar owner Randy McCray, will open by the end of the year on Marietta Square. Expect pizzas, pasta dishes, and a mozzarella bar.
