Sparkle Sandy Springs returns to City Springs on Dec. 8, and those interested in participating in the parade have until Nov. 10 to secure a spot.
Those wanting to have a float in the parade should email sparkle@argonneparades.com to receive float requirements and secure one of the few remaining spots by Nov. 10.
The City Springs district will host food trucks, holiday music by Ansley Stewart, snow machines and the Sparkle gift market, a city news release said.
At Sparkle Wonderland, attendees can “frolic in the snow, enjoy hot cocoa or snap a holiday photo with a larger-than-life inflatable of Santa Claus, The Grinch, Rudolph, and other holiday favorites.
Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and lead up to the lighting of the Menorah and the Christmas tree.
The Sparkle Village, located near the City Green, will showcase unique miniature homes. Local schools, non-profits and businesses will decorate the little homes, adorning each with twinkling lights and festive designs, the release said. This year for the first time visitors can vote for their favorite home with the winner earning bragging rights. Guests can warm up with hot chocolate, or a beverage from CityBar. & Cafe and glide on the ice at Skate City Springs.
The Sparkle parade begins at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Mount Vernon Hwy and Lake Forest near the water tower, the release said. It continues down Mount Vernon Highway, turns left onto Galambos Road, passes the towering three-story Christmas tree, and concludes in front of Sandy Springs City Hall.
After the parade, the celebration continues with the lighting of the Menorah. Mayor Rusty Paul will count down to the lighting of the Christmas tree, wrapping up the evening at 7 p.m.
