Secret service really did threaten to taser Travis Kelce during the Kansas City Chiefs’ visit to the White House last week to celebrate their latest Super Bowl win.
On this week’s episode of their “New Heights” podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, told big brother and ex-Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce that the warning was “real.”
“The Secret Service that’s all over the White House, they weren’t too happy with me,” said the younger Kelce, whose team won their fourth Lombardi Trophy in February, when they beat the San Francisco 49ers.
During Friday’s visit, the football star was surprised when President Biden actually invited him to speak at the podium — which he spontaneously took to during the team’s 2023 White House appearance.
“It’s nice to see you all yet again. I’m not gonna lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here I’d get tased,” said Kelce. “So, I’m gonna go back to my spot.”
He said he rubbed Secret Service personnel the wrong way during the Chiefs’ appearance at the White House following their 2023 Super Bowl win when he went off-script by spontaneously approaching the podium.
“When I walked in [this time], we had about four or five Secret Service members come up to me and go, ‘You know that if you go up to that podium, we are authorized to tase you,’” said Kelce. “‘It is actually ordered for us to tase you.’”
The team’s latest appearance on Pennsylvania Avenue took place nearly a year into Kelce’s love story with Taylor Swift, who cheered on the Chiefs at games throughout the season, including the Super Bowl. Their globetrotting romance has catapulted Kelce into a new stratosphere of recognition.
The couple was shown in a photo in the teaser for Kelce’s sit-down Thursday interview with “Good Morning America.”
Kelce, who’s supported Swift at many of her Eras Tour shows around the world, says in the preview that he’s “living the dream.”
