The Philadelphia Film Festival is back for its 33rd season, starting this Thursday and continuing until Oct. 25. The event will host more than 160 screenings, ranging from documentaries to animated shorts.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day Philly is hosting a festival today at Shackamaxon, part of Penn Treaty Park, where legend has it William Penn entered into a peace treaty with the local Lenape residents under an elm tree. Presenters and speakers will hail from the Delaware, Lenape, Onondaga, and Lakota Sioux nations.
The festival will also feature artists and performers of other backgrounds, including the Taíno, based in the Caribbean, and the Quechua in South America. Continue reading…
