Noel Barnes named Leadership Perimeter board president

Leadership Perimeter announced that Noel Barnes, a graduate of its Class of 2020, has been named its 2024-25 board president.

Other members stepping into leadership roles include Nataliya Fleshler ’22 as president-elect, Tiffani Bell ’22 as vice president, Gina Miller ’22 as treasurer, Sandra Jewell, Ph.D. ’16 as secretary and Janon Redmond ’20 as past president, according to a Leadership Perimeter release.

Joining the board as new members are Beth Boatwright ’16, Jennifer Dunaway ’24, Francis Horton ’23 and Jose Jimenez, ’24.

“Assuming the role of president of Leadership Perimeter fills me with both excitement and humility. Since becoming part of the program in 2020, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with numerous community leaders who embody a servant mindset, whose impact spans across for-profit, non-profit and government organizations,” Barnes said, according to the release.

Barnes, the chief financial officer (CFO) of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, has previous experience that includes roles in both for-profit and non-profit sectors, including accounting firm Arthur Andersen. He served as CFO of Edge Capital Group, and for the Woodruff Arts Center. He also serves as a board member for Sandy Springs Mission and sits on the finance committee for the Center for Global Health Innovation.

He earned a bachelor’s in science from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s in business administration from Georgia State University. Barnes resides with his wife in Sandy Springs.

President-elect Fleshler is the Global HR Business Partner at VMWare. A graduate of Kennesaw State University, she resides in Sandy Springs.

A graduate of New York University, Vice President Bell works as the director of Marketing at Kaiser Permanente. She resides in Sandy Springs.

A partner at Bennett Thrasher, Treasurer Miller received her bachelor’s degree from Truman University and her MBA from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She also serves as the treasurer for the Sandy Springs Tennis Association and lives in Sandy Springs.

As past president of the Jewell Consulting Group, Secretary Jewell received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida and her Ph.D. from Georgia State University. A past president of Leadership Perimeter, she is also a part of the Sandy Spring Civic Roundtable, Vice Chair on the Board of Trust for the Sandy Springs Education Taskforce. Jewell resides with her husband in Marietta.

Redmond is the immediate past president of Leadership Perimeter and is an events producer at Northside Hospital. A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, he resides in Alpharetta.

New board member Boatwright is a graduate of Georgia State University and the Shepherd Center CFO. She resides in Dunwoody.

Dunaway, who joins her on the board, is the founder of J. Dunaway Public Relations and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. She also serves on the advisory board of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and the board for Lion Pride, which supports Lake Forest Elementary School. She is on the sustainer council for the Junior League of Atlanta. She lives with her husband in Brookhaven.

With his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and JD from the Mississippi College School of Law, Horton is the CEO for the Community Assistance Center.  The new board member resides in Sandy Springs with his wife.

In addition to being the owner of the Alpha-Graphics locations in Sandy Springs and East Point, the final new board member, Jiminez, is also on the board for the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Brightwell Talent Solutions. The University of Southern California graduate lives with his husband in Chamblee.

Since 1986, Leadership Perimeter has developed and inspired leaders to serve their communities for a lifetime. Members represent the cities of Brookhaven, Dunwoody and Sandy Springs.
