USA Today readers selected the top tours in multiple categories.

Travelers looking for adventure this summer will find some of the best tours in the nation right here in New England, according to USA Today readers.

The publication revealed the best adventure tours in America on Wednesday, part of its 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and several New England companies were recognized in the categories of kayaking, fishing, biking, and more.

“Summer is calling, and adventure awaits at every turn,” USA Today wrote. “Imagine the spray of water on your face as you navigate the rapids, the thrill of reeling in a catch on a sunlit sea, or the wind in your hair as you cycle through scenic trails.”

Massachusetts impressed with two of the country’s 10 best fishing charters: Fishbucket Sportfishing in Boston ranked No. 4, and Reel Deal Fishing Charters in Truro ranked No. 7. The No. 1 fishing charter is Hubbard’s Marina in Madeira Beach, Fla.

“For novice fishers, a jaunt along Boston Harbor provides ample insight into the sport, while more experienced anglers can go all-in on an offshore trip to search for massive tuna and even sharks,” USA Today wrote about Boston’s Fishbucket Sportfishing.

Three of the 10 best bike tours in America are Summer Feet Cycling in Portland, Maine, which ranked No. 3, Cyclismo Classico in Arlington, which ranked No. 5, and VBT Bicycling Vacations in Williston, Vermont, which ranked No. 7. The No. 1 bike tour is Carolina Tailwinds in Winston-Salem, N.C.

“Summer Feet Cycling was founded more than two decades ago, offering bicycle tours of Maine,” USA Today wrote. “Today, the company continues to introduce visitors to the Pine Tree State, with additional tour offerings in Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Europe.”

Maine has one of the 10 best kayak tours in the nation: Maine State Sea Kayak in Southwest Harbor introduces adventurers to the “quiet side” of Acadia National Park by exploring the less-visited side of Mount Desert Island. the No. 1 kayak tour is Santa Barbara Adventure Company in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Finally, for those who don’t mind going sky high, Vertical Ventures Aviation in Whitefield, N.H. ranked No. 10 among the country’s best helicopter tours for showcasing the state’s iconic White Mountains. The No. 1 helicopter tour is Island Helicopters Kauai in Lihue, Hawaii.
