Murder suspected in Brooklyn after man found on J train platform, police say

Police Friday said they were investigating the potential murder of a man found lying on a Brooklyn subway platform, after he died at the hospital a day after he was found.

NYPD officials said they found 48-year-old Manuel Flores lying on the northbound J train platform at the Kosciuszko Street station in Bed-Stuy at around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday June 8.

Flores was conscious at the time, and police said they initially thought he was drunk.

EMS workers took him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull in stable condition, but Flores died the next day, police said.

The Office of the City Medical Examiner then ruled Flores’ death a homicide, according to police.

The agency was not immediately able to provide details on what injuries Flores had sustained.

Police said he lived at a transitional housing facility for homeless men on Malcolm X Boulevard, just two blocks from the Kosciuszko Street station.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
