A day before the Celtics pursue history, Jaylen Brown gave rave reviews about the city that’s helped raise him.

“It’s definitely a blessing to be here, to represent the Celtics, my family, the organization, the greater community,” Brown told reporters Sunday. “It’s an honor that I don’t take lightly.”

Brown said he appreciates the opportunity to come out every night and play for something that matters.

“I’ve been here almost nine years now, since I was 18, 19 years old,” Brown said. “I’ve grown up. I’ve become a man here. Boston is special. I’m looking forward to Game 5.”

All of those experiences over the years have helped him learn that Game 5 is going to be difficult. He said the Celtics can’t take it for granted and have to “fight and just stay in the moment.”

He said the Celtics have a resilient group that doesn’t like to lose. Their goal is to play as a team and be the best version of themselves.

“We are at the precipice of completing what we set out to do at the beginning of the season,” Brown said. “It’s not difficult to get everybody in that locker room on the same page right now. It’s just one possession at a time. We do it together, and we fight like our lives depend on it.”
