A three-year-old girl was fatally struck by a car while crossing a Manhattan street with her mother and siblings Thursday evening, police said

Jaynelyse Valdez, along with the child’s 37-year-old mother, and two other young siblings were in the crosswalk at West 135th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem at around 7:30 p.m. when they were hit by a 40-year-old man driving a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, police said.

Officials said the Nissan’s driver was heading south and had a green light to make a left turn, but the family had a clear walk signal giving them the right of way to cross West 135th Street.

Police said the driver of the Nissan grabbed Valdez and took her to Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. NYPD officials said she was unconscious and unresponsive at the scene, and had suffered severe injuries.

Valdez’ 2-year-old brother and 4-month-old brother were also taken to Harlem Hospital with minor injuries, along with their mother who was not seriously hurt.

Officials said the family lived in New Rochelle.

Police said they did not make any immediate arrests.
