Fulton County Schools hosts First Day Fulton back-to-school event July 27

The First Day Fulton back-to-school event will be held at Riverwood and Banneker High Schools on Saturday, July 27. (Provided by FCS)

A little more than a week before classes resumes for students in Fulton County Schools, the district will host its annual First Day Fulton back-to-school event at Riverwood High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

The event is open to new and existing students. Backpacks filled with school supplies will be available while supplies last, according to an FCS news release. Riverwood High is at 5900 Raider Drive, Sandy Springs.

Families do not have to register to attend First Day Fulton, which also will be held at Banneker High School in Union City.

Families can also register new/transferring students at the event. Registration opportunities are limited, so parents and guardians should sign up online for a time to register their student in Fulton County Schools North. Sign-up is only required to register a student.

The event will offer free backpacks stuffed with school supplies; free grocery giveaways; health screenings for 3300 forms (Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition Screening); free and reduced lunch applications, bus route information; interpreter services; Fulton County Schools Department Expo; raffles, prizes and more.

The first day of school in Fulton is Aug. 5.
