Four presidents due in NYC Thursday, along with a lot of traffic

New York City will be an epicenter of political activity —  and potential gridlock — today, as four presidents descend on the metropolitan area.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to join former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton at a star-studded campaign fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall starting around 8 p.m. according to the Associated Press — though their entourages are expected to arrive starting shortly after noon.

Further east, former president Donald Trump is scheduled to attend a wake on Long Island for NYPD officer Jonathan Diller who was shot and killed this week.

NYPD officials said to expect traffic and increased security around Midtown and Massapequa Park on Long Island throughout the day as the presidents travel to and from their destinations.

The Biden fundraiser which is slated to raise a record-setting $25 million for Biden’s re-election bid, will feature a musical lineup including Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo and Lea Michele. Late night talk show host Stephen Colbert will be moderating a panel between the three presidents and thousands of people are expected to attend, the AP reports.

Diller, the NYPD officer, was killed in a shootout in Queens after he and his partner approached an illegally parked car and the passenger allegedly opened fire on the officers.

Trump, who will be running against Biden again in 2024, has made crime a central focus of his campaign.
