DeVante Parker announced his retirement to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday, with the 31-year-old pass catcher calling it quits despite signing a one-year contract with the Eagles in March 2024.

“I want to see my kids, spend quality time with them,” Parker told Schefter. “I want to be there for them whenever I can. … “I also appreciate the Dolphins for drafting me and giving me the opportunity. I always will have love for the Dolphins and their organization. And I want to thank all the teams, the Patriots and the Eagles, too. But the Dolphins were the first team, and I really want to thank them.”

Parker spent the final two seasons of his career with the Patriots, making 24 starts over 26 total games.

After amassing 1,202 yards with nine touchdowns during a breakout season with the Dolphins in 2019, Parker struggled to replicate those stats for the rest of his career — especially after joining New England via trade in April 2022.

During his tenure in New England, Parker reeled in 64 catches for 933 receiving and three touchdowns.

The Patriots signed Parker to a contract extension for a reported three years last June, but the boundary receiver submitted a lackluster 2023 season — recording 33 catches for 394 yards and zero touchdowns. He was later released by New England in March before signing with the Eagles.

Parker finished his NFL career with 402 catches for 5,660 yards and 27 receiving touchdowns.
