The first full-service restaurant location of food hall stall Delilah’s Everyday Soul will open in South Downtown early next year along Hotel Row on Mitchell Street.

Delilah’s Everyday Soul includes food stall locations at Chattahoochee Food Works in Underwood Hills and Politan Row at Ashford Lane in Dunwoody. Another food stall location will open this fall at Politan Row at Colony Square in Midtown.

The upcoming South Downtown restaurant location will take over a space beside one of its Chattahoochee Food Works neighbors: Tyde Tate Thai Kitchen.

Named for Philadelphia restaurateur and cookbook author Delilah Winder – and owned by her daughter Delana Winder Reeves and husband, Jason – Delilah’s Everyday Soul serves soul food and Southern dishes based on family recipes. This includes Winder’s popular bone-in fried chicken and award-winning mac and cheese, which Oprah once dubbed “best in the nation.”

Expect other dishes like fried seafood plates, sandwiches, a smash burger, and Southern sides such as collard greens, candied yams, and cornbread.

Delilah’s Everyday Soul will become part of the redevelopment plans for Hotel Row, one of the oldest commercial strips left in Atlanta. Many of the two- and three-story storefronts and old hotel buildings along this portion of Mitchell Street date back to the turn of the century and still feature original design and architectural elements.

Last December, Atlanta Tech Village founders Jon Birdsong and David Cummings purchased the Hotel Row and South Downtown redevelopment project from German developer Newport RE. The project includes 56 buildings and six acres of parking lots. Birdsong and Cummings plan to continue the sympathetic renovations started by Newport of the buildings along Hotel Row to help maintain the historic character and charm of the century-old commercial corridor.

Delilah’s Everyday Soul joins Tyde Tate Kitchen, Spiller Park Coffee, and coworking space Atlanta Tech Village now open on Mitchell Street. Darryl Harris, owner of Moods Music in Little Five Points, will open Crates record store this fall at 215 Mitchell St. While Moods Music sells mostly new vinyl, CDs, turntables, and books, Crates in South Downtown will sell used vinyl records as well as home goods and music-related merchandise.

More Hotel Row restaurant and retail announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
