Construction worker falls 20 feet while working on church steeple in Jamaica Plain

A construction worker was injured when he fell about 15 to 20 feet while working at the top of a church steeple in Jamaica Plain, officials said. 

The Boston fire and police departments responded to 85 Seaverns Ave. at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a construction worker who had fallen, according to officials. 

The worker sustained injuries to his ribs and ankle, Boston Police Department spokesperson Mark Marron said in a statement. 

First responders with the Boston Fire Department treated and stabilized the worker on scene, according to a post by the department on X. 

The worker was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Marron. 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified, Marron said.
