It’s spooky season in Atlanta and Halloweeen events are pop-up all around the metro ahead of Oct. 31.

Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tours give a nighttime look at the historic graveyard Oct. 17-20 and again Oct. 23-27. Guided by costumed storytellers the tour stops at notable and notorious residents and is designed to enlighten rather than frighten. Tickets usually sell out fast.

The Netherworld haunted house in Stone Mountain is once again scaring the pants off visitors through Nov. 9. Some of this year’s themed tours include “Wake the Dead” and “Mr. Grendel’s Birthday Party of Horrors.”

The biggest Halloween event of the year, the 2024 Little Five Points Halloween Festival and Parade is Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 with the parade happening at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Little Five Points festival has something for all ages this year. L5P Halloweenville is an interactive installation by local artist Shane Morton is collaboration with the High Museum.

There are also three stages of non-stop music, while the L5P Carnival of Chaos Deep South Wrestling offers fierce wrestling matches between women, men, and monsters. A scavenger hunt is the perfect event the whole family with a search through the neighborhood to track down Halloween stickers at local businesses. 

The Little Five Points Halloween Parade is the highlight of the weekend with hundreds of costumed characters, floats, music and more.

There’s also still time to check out the Little 5 Points Ghost Tour, which begin in Findley Plaza at the corner of Moreland and Euclid Aves each evening through the ned of the month. Boo at the Zoo, the family Halloween festival, returns to Zoo Atlant on Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27 apresented by Georgia Natural Gas. Activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Fantaween, a Halloween attraction featuring fun for the whole family, will be hosted by the World of Coca-Cola and Georgia Aquarium Saturdays and Sundays in October at Pemberton Place. With purchase of a ticket for Fantaween visitors will receive a free beverage in a collectable Fanta cup. 

Atlanta’s Oktoberfest at Redeemer brings flavors of Germany to Midtown on Oct. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a live German band, food trucks, games, a German beer garden, and so much more. Screen on the Green at Atlantic Station is showing the original 1984 “Ghostbusters” movie on Oct. 24 starting at 7 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public. Bring your coziest blanket, friends and family.

Kick off the Halloween season at Brook Run Park with Trunk or Treat on Oct. 24 from 5 to 10 p.m. Enjoy the last food truck Thursday of the season, live music, and plenty of candy. The Dunwoody Police and Parks Departments will be handing out treats.

One of Atlanta’s spookiest locations, Rhodes Hall, is open after-hours for ghost tours on Oct. 25, 29 and 30. This haunted “Castle of Peachtree” has been featured in TV shows like “Ghost Hunters” and WSB’s “Georgia’s Haunted Gems.” Tours are 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 on Oct. 25, 29 and 30. The 8:30 tour is a special edition, Hidden Spaces Tour, that brings guests to the out-of-sight hotbeds for paranormal activities. Must be 21+ or older to attend and tickets are $50 per person. The Atlanta History Center is hosting The Great Trick or Treat a celebration of Halloween with face painters, strolling magicians, a children’s ride, and early trick-or-treating. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged and the suggested age is children under ten years old. Children three and under are free with the purchase of adult tickets. Tickets can be purchased here. This fun fall event is on Oct. 27 from 1to 4 p.m.

The City of Sandy Springs will host its annual Spooky Springs at Abernathy Greenway Playable Art Park on Oct. 26, 5-7 p.m. Admission is free. Families can enjoy trick-or-treat candy stations, face painting, fog machines, music and food trucks Dogs on Wheels, Qn2 BBG, and Three Tikis (Hawaiian Shave Ice). Park at Sandy Springs Christian Church, 301 Johnson Ferry Road.

Halloween Restaurant Events

The Waldorf Astoria Atlanta in Buckhead will host Howl-O-Ween High Tea in October. Tea takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with live music, Halloween decor and foods, and special guest appearances from Furkids Animal Rescue dogs and cats up for adoption. Proceeds from the teas will benefit FurKids. Reservations for Howl-O-Ween High Tea are available via OpenTable, costing $115 per adult and $80 per child aged 11 years or younger. 

Citizens Market food hall at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead will host a full week of Halloween events. Highlights include Booze & Tunez on Oct. 25, from 7-10 p.m., with Halloween-inspired cocktails and a DJ, or a Spooky Sips & Bites brunch on Saturday and Sunday with specialty mimosas and creative twists on usual brunch fare. For more information and updates visit their Instagram here.

Okay Anny’s Cocktail Bar is gearing up for a spooktacular October with a series of Halloween-themed parties every Saturday night. The lineup features iconic horror movies and characters paired with signature cocktails. The schedule includes tributes to The Adams Family, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Beetlejuice. The month culminates in a Thriller-themed bash on Halloween night. Each event promises a unique blend of themed drinks, costume contests, and atmospheres inspired by the featured films. 

Amore e Amore in Inman Park hosts a month-long Halloween pop-up with spooky decor and themed food specials and drinks. On Oct. 26, starting at 4 p.m., the Italian restaurant will host a family-friendly Halloween party, complete with music, costume contests, and more. Starting at 8 p.m., the restaurant will turn 21+ and offer a four-course Halloween-themed dinner for $120 per person. Costumes encouraged. Make reservations here.

Mascogo Tacos in Decatur will host a Halloween-themed book event with bookshop The Book Bird on Oct. 26. Guest speakers include director Andi Behring and psychologist Charles Westbrook. Expect tacos and margaritas from Mascogo Tacos and mystery, horror, and thriller books available for purchase. 

On Oct. 26. Punch Bowl Social will host a Halloween Bash, starting at 8 p.m., featuring flash tattoos, a costume contest, DJ, and hidden prizes. You can sign up here.

On Oct. 26, Dunwoody Tavern will be rocking out for a great cause – Camp Twin Lakes. There will be a Cornhole Tournament (starting at 6 p.m. with cash prizes), silent auction, and a Halloween costume contest. All of the proceeds will go to Camp Twin Lakes. Family Truckster will play crowd favorite tunes from 8-11pm.

The Iberian Pig’s Murder Mystery Dinner will take place Oct. 31. Returning for its 8^th year at the Decatur location, the 2024 theme is “Midnight at the Masquerade.” Starting at 6 p.m., you can enjoy an evening of dinner, drinks, and an interactive show, while working to uncover which masked partygoer is the culprit. Wear a costume to Tucker Brewing on Halloween, get $1 off all your beers. Costume contest winners will take home a six pack. Rolling Thai Food Truck will be serving in the beer garden, plus music from the Intoxicologists.

Hit up Trunk or Treat on Main Street in Tucker on Halloween from 4-8 p.m. with more than 30 trunks on the street. Costume contests will be held at 5:30 and 7:00 and there will be free face painting and bounce houses. Tom Hill and the Midnight Suns will entertain, and there will be a charity jail from DeKalb County Police Department – Tucker Precinct. All proceeds will be divided between the Fraternal Order of Police for the annual Santa Cop for children and a group of officers that hosts Christmas for seniors at Grace Healthcare.
