Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (ARMHC) is making a push for the last $12.2 million of a $90 million goal to build a new facility in Brookhaven.

Hoping to complete the project by December 2025, the House will be constructed next to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital, which opened on Sept. 29. It will be the third House in metro Atlanta.

ARMHC provides meals, accommodations, and financial support while a young family member is undergoing treatment.

In 2023, the organization served more than 3,000 families, saving them $8.4 million in lodging, food and transportation costs, while providing over 25,000 nights of rest, representing a 45% increase from previous years. This year, the nonprofit has experienced a monumental 77% increase in the number of nights families have stayed in its Houses since 2022.

“With Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital now open, the new House will be vital to providing additional accommodations, comfort, care and community to families while their children undergo treatment,” said Chris Marinac, chair of the new House development committee.

Marinac said that every contribution makes a significant impact. “We are calling on Atlantans to join us in our fundraising efforts to keep families together, ensure access to care and provide hope during an extremely challenging time,” he said.
