The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF) hosted its annual Community Investment Celebration on Sept. 24, presenting $1.05 million in grant checks to 17 nonprofit grantee partners across Metro Atlanta.
The Community Investment Celebration underscores AWF’s mission to empower women and girls by funding organizations that address the challenges they face, particularly those stemming from poverty. AWF
In partnership with the City of Atlanta, the event featured remarks from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Candace Stanciel, Chief Equity Officer for the City, highlighting their commitment to supporting women and girls in Atlanta.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to see the direct impact these funds have on the lives of women and girls in metro Atlanta,” said Kari B. Love, AWF’s CEO. “Thanks to the generosity of our partners—individual donors, companies, and other supporters—these organizations can continue providing essential programs and services, such as education, mental health care, housing, and childcare, ensuring that women and girls have the resources they need to succeed.”

Looking ahead, AWF’s flagship fundraising event, the Numbers Too Big To Ignore Luncheon, will occur on Oct. 30. This year’s luncheon will feature actress and comedian Molly Shannon as the keynote speaker.
