🌤️ Mostly sunny and 95° today. 

🏆 Wheelchair athletes Daniel Romanchuk and Susannah Scaroni won the AJC Peachtree Road Race this morning. It is Romanchuk’s seventh straight and Scaroni’s fourth Peachtree win, and her third in a row. Follow live coverage of the 10K race live on AJC.com.

🚊 After major pushback from city leaders, MARTA announced yesterday that it would pause the renovation of Five Points Station, which was slated to begin this weekend. 

🔎 A $50,000 reward is being offered for information about the shooting death of two boys on Tuesday in southwest Atlanta.

⚖️ The appointment of Atlanta’s new city attorney, Patrise Perkins-Hooker, has been delayed again with no explanation.

💰 Our colleague Dyana Bagby has more details on the $2 million settlement approved by the city for two college students tased and removed from their car during Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. 

⬆️ The Fulton County Board of Commissioners announced it intends to increase property taxes this year by 3.74 percent over the rollback millage rate.

🗳️ President Joe Biden vowed to continue his reelection campaign despite growing pressure from Democrats to withdraw. A CNN poll showed Biden’s approval rating at a new low.

📈 Both the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 closed at record highs yesterday. The stock markets are closed today.

🇬🇧 UK citizens are voting in today’s general election, with polls showing  Prime Minister Rishi Sunak losing to Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.

🌀 Hurricane Beryl is headed to the Cayman Islands and then Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, with Texas bracing for possible impact on Monday.

2. A guide to the Dunwoody 4th of July parade

🇺🇸 Rough Draft has partnered with the Dunwoody Homeowners Association to present the 2024 4th of July Parade. The parade, which has the theme “Red, White & YOU,” is the largest in the state.

The 2.7-mile parade route steps off from the intersection of Mount Vernon and Jett Ferry roads at 9 a.m. David Abes of DASH Hospitality is the Grand Marshal. 

After the parade, you can stick around for a festival at Dunwoody Village, where there will be plenty of activities to enjoy.

But, before the festivities start, you’ll need to find the perfect viewing spot. We’ve got some tips for you ahead of the parade.

3. ‘Cobra Kai’ mansion on the market in Marietta

🥋 Want to live in the LaRusso mansion from the hit Netflix series “Cobra Kai”? You can for a cool $2,950,000.

While the hit series – a continuation of the “Karate Kid” franchise – is set in Los Angeles, the home that belongs to Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) is actually at 130 Woodlawn Drive in Marietta.

Engel & Völkers Atlanta, which is marketing the home, said in a press release that it “combines modern elegance with the charm of Southern architecture.”
