Israel Hamas War: ‘America will try to implement six-week ceasefire in Gaza’, Biden in Ramadan message

Biden congratulated the Muslim community on Ramadan and said, “This holy month is a time for reflection and a new beginning. This year this month has come at a very painful time. The war in Gaza has caused terrible suffering to the Palestinian people.”

US President Joe Biden on Sunday greeted the Muslim community around the world ahead of Ramadan. Referring to the Israel-Hamas conflict in his message, he said that the US will continue to work for an immediate ceasefire of at least six weeks in Gaza under the agreement related to the release of Israeli hostages.

Biden said, “We will continue to work toward lasting and far-reaching stability, security, and a peaceful future.” We will also continue efforts to reach an agreement on a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine, so that the people of Palestine and Israel enjoy equal freedom, dignity, security and prosperity. This is the only path to lasting peace.”

He said the United States will continue to lead international efforts to deliver maximum humanitarian assistance to Gaza by land, air and sea.

‘The Gaza war has caused suffering to the Palestinian people’
Congratulating the Muslim community on Ramadan, he said, “This holy month is a time for reflection and a new beginning. This year this month has come at a very painful time. The war in Gaza has caused terrible suffering to the Palestinian people. More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in this war. Most of these are common citizens. Thousands of children are also included in these. “Some American Muslims have family members who are mourning the loss of their loved ones today.”

It is noteworthy that the US government has supported Israel’s right to take action against Hamas after the October 7 attack. However, he warned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu that he should pay more attention to the incidents of deaths of innocent people due to this action.
