Three children and two adults were hospitalized in a two-car crash Wednesday evening in Rogers Park.

A driver speeding through an alley struck a boy on a bicycle and a blue Nissan carrying four people about 6:35 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Jonquil Terrace, Chicago police said.

The bicyclist, a 13-year-old boy, and two other boys, 7 and 10, were hospitalized at Lurie Children’s Hospital and Lutheran General Hospital in Evanston, police and fire officials said. The two adults in the Nissan were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. All suffered injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

A sixth person refused medical attention at the scene, fire officials said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the bike and car fled the scene, police said.
