2 injured at Harvard after balcony collapses

Various officials responded to the scene at Harvard. The extent of injuries is unclear, but both individuals were reportedly conscious when transported.

Two people celebrating at Harvard were transported to an area hospital after a balcony collapsed. According to various reports, the two students fell approximately 20 feet.

The incident occurred at a block party after Harvard’s celebration for graduates of their Graduate School of Education. The party drew a crowd of over 300, according to reporting by The Crimson.

The two individuals fell after leaning on a railing that gave way. Harvard police, Cambridge police, and Cambridge fire responded to the scene around 5:20 p.m.

According to Robert Goulston, media relations for the Cambridge Police Department, their officials “helped with a medical assist report.”

Although the extent of any injuries is unknown, the pair was reportedly conscious when they were brought to the hospital.
